File:Shane Warne February 2015.jpg[edit]

While I'm in no doubt that your update to File:Shane Warne February 2015.jpg was well intentioned, it seems to have altered the image aspect ratio in a manner that significantly changes the shape of Warne's head. Given that Warne's Wikipedia biography is currently attracting considerable attention, this needs urgent rectification. I'd attempt the revert myself, but am unsure how to do this, and don't want to mess things up further. AndyTheGrump (talk) 16:58, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Evidently this was some sort of caching issue (I wasn't the only person to see it, as it was commented on at Wikipedia). Having reverted and then re-reverted, the file is now back as you left it. Presumably a bug somewhere, either with Wikimedia software, of with the browser. AndyTheGrump (talk) 17:30, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
yeah i have had caching issues before so i tested that image on another browser and it looked fine, when i added that image 7 years back, i wasn't good at fixing them so when i saw he died and realised a image i added was used as his headshot on enwiki, i had to fix it as i knew it would end up on the main page and then cascade protected and thus i wont be able to fix it.. yeah commons server has an odd caching issue which is easily fixed by clearing your cache or "ctrl+f5" ... Thanks, that makes sense. Thinking back, I've seen similar issues before, with a sound file, and got similar advice. Next time, I'll check on other hardware first, so I can at least be sure it isn't a problem at my end. AndyTheGrump (talk) 18:44, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Shane Warne[edit]

I think that his complexion after your balancing is a bit too orange/ruddy (compare to other images of him in sunlight on Google Images, for example, which are far less red). I recall that some users on enwiki made the same comment when the image was on the front page -- could you re-balance it so it looks closer to how his skin looks in other sunlight photos? — Goszei (talk) 19:14, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

i can fix it a bit, the reality is that the original image on flickr was really diluted for reason's unknown, i assume the photographer used a much lower ISO which isn't a good idea inside a dimly lit building, you could barely notice Shane had heterochromia... the enwiki issue was that ppl didn't like that the wall of the building appearing in the picture which got cropped out..I chose not to remove that wall as it made the picture odd and poorly cropped..mind you a lot of colouring issue is caused by poorly set colour settings on the laptops/monitors of people using wikipedia lol..anyways i made a fix...
